Burwell Nebraska baseball 1910 town team

 

As you can see from the photo above Burwell Nebraska has a long baseball history. The photo above is dated 1910.

Burwell Nebraska is a town of more than 1,200 located about 90 miles northwest of Grand Island. Calamus reservoir is nearby. It is known for its excellent rodeo drawing big crowds from all over the plains states.

The current ball diamond is on the south east side of town near the school. It has a dirt infield and a fair outfield. It has a nice set of lights. It is currently the home of the Burwell American Legion team.

 

 

This is probably the best place to include the Ballagh Town team photograph.
The Ballagh ranch is still in operation near Burwell. The Ballagh post office
is defunct.
